Who We Are

Scott is a Clinical Exercise Physiologist specialising in     exercise rehabilitation for musculoskeletal pathologies with a devoted interest in therapy for chronic back pain, postural dysfunction, and upper/lower limb injuries.

Scott has 10 years of experience as a registered and       accredited exercise physiologist (Exercise and Sport Science Australia) within the Australian health system, and prides himself on delivering a high quality and trusted clinical exercise service to all of his clients/patients with all conditions.

He consistently achieves rapid and effective outcomes for clients seeking a return to sport/leisure, return to work, activities of daily living, and chronic pain relief.  

What is an exercise physiologist?

Exercise Physiologists are university qualified and professionally accredited allied health specialists who use current scientific-based exercise methods to achieve and manage health goals for people with chronic or acute injuries and diseases as well as healthy individuals. Regular and appropriately prescribed exercise with education in postural awareness, movement preparation, lifestyle management and behavior change strategies is proven to reduce symptoms, increase movement function and exercise tolerance, improve mood, boost confidence, prevent injuries and disease, and improve overall quality of life.

Modes of exercise therapy

Strength training

Resistance training involves completing sets of repetitions of a specific movement to enhance muscle, bone and joint health. Structured and regular strength exercises with a focus on correct movement patterns improves muscle and enregy metabolism, bone and joint strength, weight management and physical function to support the demands of everyday life.

Balance, flexibility, and postural correction

Balance and flexibility exercise specifically targets the development of the neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems by challenging and enhancing static (still) and dynamic (motion) stability.  This specific training  improves posture, reflexes, and movement coordination thus reducing the likelihood of a fall or injury event when navigating physical challenges within our environments.

Cardiovascular training

Cardiovascular training (cardio) consists of low, moderate, or high intensity aerobic exercise which develops the cardiac (heart), respiratory (lungs), vascular (arteries and veins) and metabolism systems wtihin the body. Cardio training better regulates and improves fatigue and bodyweight management, heart rhythm and function, blood pressure, lung function, vascular health and energy utilisation (metabolism)
